The topic of prayer is a very deep subject, and yet, it is simple. Many people struggle with praying, especially praying out loud, because they have heard more experienced Christians pray and they feel like they could never pray like them, so they don’t. Sadly, they miss out on a beautiful experience by not praying to the Lord out loud. You don’t even have to do it with others around; you can just be in a place all by yourself and begin to pray out loud to Jesus.

There are still some who are intimidated to pray at all; they feel like they just don’t know how to. First, remember that praying is just having a conversation with God; don’t make it more complicated than it is. Second, remember Jesus is not grading us on how well or how badly we pray; He just wants us to converse with Him. How to pray is just to tell Him what is on your heart. Yes, it is that simple. If you need help, just remember to first thank Him for all He has done for you. Then pray to him your hurts, needs, and even your desires. Remember, you are God’s children, and He desires to hear from all of us. You don’t even have to close your eyes; you can even pray while you are driving. I like praying out loud while I am driving. It helps me concentrate on the conversation, and it makes others think I’m crazier than I am.

One of the biggest questions is, when you ask the Lord for something in your life, how many times should you ask Him in your prayers? This takes us to Luke 18:1-7, “Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray and not to lose heart, 2 saying, 'In a certain city there was a judge who did not fear God and did not respect man. 3 There was a widow in that city, and she kept coming to him, saying, ‘Give me legal protection from my opponent.’ 4 For a while he was unwilling; but afterward he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God nor respect man, 5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will give her legal protection, otherwise by continually coming she will wear me out.’ ” 6 And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge *said; 7 now, will not God bring about justice for His elect who cry to Him day and night, and will He delay long over them?” Jesus answers that question for us. If it is important in your life, then it is important to Jesus. Remember when we ask for something, sometimes the answer is yes, or no, or wait. My last suggestion is to have a spiritual hit list of those you want to see come to Christ and pray for them. Don’t quit or give up thinking they are hopeless. We know Jesus wants them as much as you want them to come to Him. When you need that miracle in your life, pray without ceasing. Then, remember to thank Him when the miracle comes.
