![]() The Campaign of Praise is officially over. You can, however continue to give toward the new building. (►View Construction Pictures) (►Building Dedication Pictures) "Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created will praise the Lord.” Psalm 102:18 ts own pleasure. Its purpose should be to lead present and future generations to give all glory to God. That desire was reflected in the prayerful attitude of fifteen people who came together over 70 years ago to seek the Will of God about organizing a Baptist church in Muncie, Indiana. At that time, they declared that their “one and only ambition is to grow in spirit and truth, and lead many lost souls to Jesus, that their hearts may be cleansed and made pure.” They were looking toward those “future generations and a people not yet created.” Their Spirit-led vision has lived on since that time in the many generations born - physically and spiritually - into the Old Town Hill Southern Baptist Church family. Just as their growth necessitated the need for a larger structure, so our increase in parishioners has prompted the need for more space. We need to continue to minister to those who now worship with us and to reach those who have yet to join us in praising the Lord. Thus was born Campaign of Praise. And, oh, how easy it is to praise Him! Looking back, we gratefully see how the “fervent, effectual prayer” of fifteen righteous people in 1936 manifested itself in a congregation of over 300 in 2007. So, although we are raising money for a building, let us remember that God’s church is His people, not a structure. The multi-ministry center will be a tool that will enable us to further serve the needs of His children. this campaign has to be about praising God for His blessing of growing our church thus far and about the opportunities He will give us to reach out to others in the future. With this Scripture and this theme, we can all keep our focus not only on the person of Jesus, but also on the purpose of Jesus . . . “that a people not yet created will praise the Lord! “For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11 PICTURES (click on a picture for a larger slideshow) Construction:
